Ipu Lani , Inc. 501 (c)(3) is the parent non-profit
organization of the Hawaii Gourd Society.
VISION: Our ultimate vision is a revitalized and active
Ipu (gourd) culture in the State of Hawaii.
MISSION: The mission of Ipu Lani, Inc 501 (c)(3) and
the Hawaii Gourd Society , is to bring back to life,
or revitalize Hawaii's ipu culture. We will explore the
wide variety of uses, both functional as well as artistic,
along with the propagation of the ipu in Hawaii. We will
educate the public regarding the historic uses of the
ipu, a heritage plant.
GOAL: The goal of Ipu Lani, Inc. 501 (c)(3) and the
Hawaii Gourd Society will be to set up different farms
to grow, cultivate and propagate the ipu in Hawaii. We
will strive to bring back to life the joy of working
with the ipu and the beauty of the final ipu art.
We will search for proper growing spots and make every
effort to begin cultivation...by grants and donations
we plan to farm ipu throughout the islands. We will
have classes and seminars to pass our gathered knowledge
on
to the public.
